October 29 Is National Internet Day

On October 29, 1969, a young graduate student on the UCLA campus sent the first internet message to his research colleague at Stanford. He intended to type the word LOGIN, but the system crashed after he successfully typed the letters “L” and “O.” It was a humble beginning — two letters sent electronically between two computers — which ushered in one of the top inventions of all time.

National Internet Day was first celebrated in 2005, and it’s since grown into a worldwide event that recognizes the technological advancements that define the digital age. Each year, people highlight the internet’s milestones and its profound impact on global communication, education, business, healthcare, entertainment, and more.

RTC Networks is proud to provide fast and reliable internet service to keep you connected.
