RTC Networks extends its sincere gratitude to retiring board member Jennifer Sorenson for her 18 years of dedicated service and leadership on the RTC Networks Board of Directors.

Jennifer joined the board in 2008 and has served the cooperative with thoughtful leadership and dedicated commitment to its member-owners.

Jennifer helped guide the cooperative through the rapid expansion and high demand brought on by the Bakken Oil Boom. With new businesses and residents arriving in record numbers, RTC Networks faced unprecedented service requests. Meeting this demand required bold investments in infrastructure—burying fiber, expanding network electronics, hiring staff, and securing capital. Jennifer was instrumental in helping RTC Networks rise to this challenge with clarity, confidence, and vision.

Her leadership continued to help shape the cooperative’s future in more recent years as RTC Networks worked through the acquisition of Midstate Telephone Company and Midstate Communications, a major milestone finalized in 2021. This acquisition welcomed the subscribers of the Midstate companies into the RTC Networks family and expanded the cooperative’s customer base by more than 25%. In addition to her service on the RTC Networks Board, Jennifer also represented RTC Networks for many years on the Broadband Association of North Dakota (BAND) Board of Directors, helping advocate for the advancement of rural broadband and telecommunications services across the state.
Jennifer’s leadership, experience, and dedication have helped shape RTC Networks into the cooperative it is today. Thank you, Jennifer, for 18 years of service, leadership, and commitment to RTC Networks and the communities it serves.
